Ready to roll

As of tomorrow, I'll pretty much be ready to roll with my sections of the animation.  It's far from perfect, but that'll do, pig; that'll do.  Just reminding you all that if you need me to help with any other little bits of your sections, let me know.

Also, any emails you may have sent Friday afternoon to my work address, I won't have received, so pls make sure you use my gmail address as my main account, or just post on here.

Let me know when you think your renders will be done and I'll arrange to pick them up via the FTP.

Um...nope

Okay, I take that back about having that problem fixed. It worked on the still renders but not the animation renders. And I don't have Render iterations ticked like a lot of the forums say is the issue. I'm stuck and I'm going to have to use the MR renderer and I don't want to.

If anyone has a solution, please let me know!!! The error is:

"Error allocating mesh. Reduce the face count to render this scene."

I have deleted EVERYTHING that I'm not using. There's not much left!

I'm going to try to import everything into a new scene and see what happens...

Wah!

Render issue fixed

That error I was getting that said to reduce the face count - well I fixed it, but I had to delete everything that wasn't in my immediate scene. Even though those objects weren't being rendered, after I deleted them it renders fine. Now I just need to see how long it thinks it's going to take to do the whole thing...

Just on that, I'll need the finished avi renders FTP'd to me by tomorrow (Thursday) night at around 6pm so that I can stick it all together. If anyone thinks this may be an issue (it might for me too!) then let's chat. Pls make sure they are PAL and at least 640x480. I'm going to try to do mine at 768x576 if I can with the time limit.

Peace

Anita

Lighting, Waz animation, FTP

Hey all,

Re lighting - I'm looking at Chuck rendered in this booth, and I'm going to have to add an extra light. You can't see his front at all and his eyes look like black holes, he looks like a zombie painted black. I'm thinking I'll put a soft omni in front of him, just below the rim of the booth to try and light up his face more. What I'm thinking is that when Gene walks up, he won't be lit up either (in Mat's file render) so Mat, you may need to do the same and we hope that it matches up. I'll post the light info when I figure it out.

Also, Waz, when you were away on Saturday, Shawn put some lighting into your scene, we imported the characters and then all took away a copy of the same scene to animate to. We ended up breaking down the scenes dramatically, to about three or four I think, mine being Chuck on the phone and saying 'Cash Only', Mat's being Gene's walk cycle from the spaceship and the bits on the ends, and at the end of class (Mat, you had left by this stage) Shawn and I were talking and thought you might want to do the first shot of the spaceship landing and the shot at the end with Gene looking depressed and the spaceship towing the sign? At first we left it out because we thought we were going to have the animations done that day, but it SO didn't happen. Shawn has now given us until Friday to have the whole thing animated and edited.

Therefore, we decided that we would compile the rendered animated sections via FTP. I'm looking at YouSendit at the moment, you can get a free two week trial so perhaps we use that.

I'm still happy to edit it together, unless one of you want to, I'm not fussed. I would just have to give you the sound effects if you want to use those.

Some textures (Baby Seal fur ommitted for the sake of sensitive viewers and hippy pinko leftys...)

OK folks, my first meaningful post in a while. Gene is coming alone fine, and after last night's revelations, the texturing is really busting along. I am going to move on now to a few other parts, but here are the textures, and some test renders....next up i'll be applying some eye lid colouring and so on....

...hope youse loik....wotcha!
